ASUS p525 PDA microphone problem

After about 6 months of using the p525, folks started complaining about my voice not being audible to them during a conversation. I first thought this was some software bug or some lint had gotten in through the damn small microphone hole. I tried fixing it myself, to no avail. Finally took it the local ASUS service center(S.P Road, Bangalore). There the customer care representative told me that this is a normal problem for this model and will replace the motherboard for me. I had to wait for 2 weeks though as this model is discontinued and the motherboard had to arrive from Taiwan.

Anyway, now I have my old phone with a new motherboard and things are back to normal.

Compaq Presario v3000 warranty extension program from HP

I own a Compaq Presario V3228AU series laptop, which functioned fine till it was in warranty(one year). Soon after I started experiencing
(1) Wireless won't turn on(light stays orange)
(1.1) will come on once every 24 hours
(2) The system lights will come on with nothing on the display
(2.1) As soon as you plug-in the AC power the system will power-on
Point number two made me do some research and I found out that there is a host of problems with this series(v3000) and HP pavilion series and HP is avoiding a class action lawsuit by replacing the motherboards for free, even if you are out of warranty.

So I took mine to the service station at Indiranagar, Banglaore, and HP replaced my motherboard free of cost.
